Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, met with Fari Al Garnis, Deputy Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, to discuss deepening economic cooperation and activating partnerships in the field of investments.
Following the meeting, Arveladze confirmed that both sides agreed to start negotiations on a memorandum for a bilateral investment agreement.
“Saudi Arabia is an important economic partner, and we welcome the deepening of cooperation. In recent years, investments from Saudi Arabia in Georgia have grown significantly, increasing by 263% in 2024 and 70% in the first six months of 2025. We expect even more investments following the signing of the agreement,” Arveladze said.
The meeting also addressed bilateral investment opportunities, joint projects, and increased private sector involvement.
During his visit, Arveladze also met with Mohammed Abrul Al-Abduljabari, Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) of Saudi Arabia. They discussed exports promotion mechanisms, organization of trade missions and business forums, and private sector support tools.
