The Georgian government is closely monitoring the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East with profound concern, recognising that these conflicts threaten the security and prosperity of all nations in the region, without exception, the government stated.
In its official statement, Georgia expressed hope that peace will be swiftly restored in the near future.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic of Iran, where the ongoing violence has claimed numerous lives, including those of the Supreme Leader, other political figures, many innocent civilians, and dozens of children.
We also offer our sympathies to our friendly Jewish community and to Israel for the tragic loss of civilians caused by these hostilities. The Government of Georgia stands in full solidarity with the Gulf Arab states, with whom we share a distinguished partnership.
We sincerely hope that peace will soon be re-established in the Middle East and that hostilities will be replaced by diplomacy and political dialogue. The Government of Georgia will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our citizens in the region and to protect their interests,” the statement concluded.
