In the second quarter of 2026, 4,611 vessels entered Georgia's ports and terminals, showing varied dynamics across ship types compared to the same period last year. During this timeframe, ports and terminals processed 5.36 million tons of cargo, marking a 33% annual increase.
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), the largest share of incoming vessels (47.3%) comprised general cargo carriers. Liquid cargo carriers made up 24.9%, while container ships accounted for 19.3%. The remaining 8.5% was split between bulk carriers and specialized vessels.

Alongside the growth in ship arrivals, the total volume of processed cargo grew significantly to 5,364.5 thousand tons (approx. 5.36 million tons), representing a 33% increase compared to Q2 2025.

Bulk Cargo: 21.7%
Additionally, Georgian ports served 4.7 thousand passengers in Q2 2026, a 54.5% surge compared to the same period last year. Departures accounted for the larger portion of total passenger traffic at 53.2%.
