Georgia’s State Audit Office has identified labor compensation and oversight deficiencies at Georgian Post, including nine advisers to the company’s former general director who had no detailed job descriptions. The audit covers 2023–2024, when Levan Chikvaidze led the company before leaving the post in summer 2025.

According to the report, auditors could find no documentation demonstrating the work or involvement of three advisers who received a combined GEL 273,738 in salaries during the audited period. Two advisers spent a total of 107 days abroad at different times in 2023–2024, but the company could not provide supporting business travel, leave or other documentation. The periods were nevertheless counted as working time.

The company said advisers provided management with occasional consultations, potentially remotely, but such arrangements were not regulated by their employment contracts.

The audit also found that working hours were not monitored for the general director, advisers or department heads, despite an attendance-tracking system for other staff. Electronic records showed that one employee appeared at the central office on only five calendar days over two years, with absences recorded on other days. Georgian Post paid the employee GEL 159,145 during that period, but auditors could not verify whether the expenditure was justified.
