Georgian Railway has signed a $3.29 million contract with Maximum for the rehabilitation of passenger platforms No. 2 and No. 3 at Tbilisi Central Railway Station. The contract was signed on September 17 and includes VAT.

The project will take 12 months, with six months allocated to each platform. Works will include infrastructure upgrades, new roofing, improved drainage, renewed surfaces and lighting, as well as the installation of four new escalators.

Project documents identified issues with drainage systems, reinforced concrete structures and drainage channels, along with damaged sections and irregular alignment with the tracks.

Maximum was registered in 2021 and has carried out several construction projects, including work for the National Archives and the Georgian Football Federation. Georgian Railway also planned the platform rehabilitation in 2024, but the tender, valued at around GEL 4 million, was unsuccessful.
