Georgian Travelers Avoid Early Planning for European Trips - Winglet

ანა კირკიტაძე

Georgian tourists are increasingly reluctant to plan European trips in advance, according to Ana Kirkitadze, founder of the travel company Winglet. Speaking on BMGTV’s “Business Morning,” she noted that, unlike previous years, when customers grew accustomed to purchasing airline tickets and travel packages early, especially during promotional periods, this trend has weakened significantly.

Kirkitadze explained that concerns related to the potential suspension of visa-free travel and a general sense of uncertainty are driving this shift in behavior. “Due to fears surrounding possible changes to visa liberalization and overall instability, customers are avoiding advance bookings. As a result, a significant share of reservations is once again shifting toward Turkey,” she said.

According to her, travelers who are unsure about the future of EU travel policies prefer destinations they consider secure and predictable. Many Georgians planning summer vacations are choosing to avoid the risk associated with uncertain European travel conditions.

At this stage, Turkey remains the safest and most convenient destination for Georgian tourists, Kirkitadze added. With no additional travel barriers, Turkey offers a stable and reliable alternative, making it an increasingly popular choice over European destinations.
