Georgia's economy expanded by 8.6% year-on-year in June 2026, while average real GDP growth reached 7.9% in the first six months of the year, according to Geostat's preliminary estimates.

Geostat reported that the turnover of VAT-paying businesses, representing the private sector, totaled GEL 16.7 billion in June, up 14% compared to the same month last year.

The strongest contributions to economic growth came from manufacturing, transportation and storage, construction, information and communication, and financial and insurance activities.

Meanwhile, the mining and quarrying sector and the energy sector recorded declines during the month, according to the statistics office.
