Georgia imported 6,087 electric vehicles worth $89 million in the first half of 2026, marking a 39.3% year-on-year increase. The largest growth came from the United States, where imports rose by 58.4%.

The U.S. remained Georgia’s main supplier, accounting for 4,891 vehicles worth $63.1 million. It was followed by China with 637 vehicles valued at $14.1 million, Japan with 357 vehicles, and Germany with 55 vehicles.

Other suppliers included Canada, Ukraine, Turkey, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and Belgium, although imports from these countries were relatively small.

Electric vehicles imported into Georgia are exempt from excise tax, a policy that continues to support demand for EVs.
