In 2025, Georgia’s imports of food products, raw food materials, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages reached an all-time high of $2.2 billion, marking a 20% increase (or $378 million) compared to the previous year. Among all product groups, the largest import volume , $238 million, came from meat products.
According to official statistics, Georgia faces its biggest domestic production deficit in the categories of meat and dairy, making these items the country’s most imported goods.
By country, Georgia imported the largest volume of food products from Russia, totaling $539 million, driven mainly by grain products. Turkey ranked second with $242 million, followed by Ukraine with $139 million.
Other major suppliers included Brazil ($104 million), Poland ($90.4 million), and France ($87 million), from which Georgia primarily imports dairy products.
