Georgia imported goods worth $14.4 billion in the first nine months of 2026, an increase of $723 million, or 5.3%, year-on-year.

Passenger cars remained the country’s largest import category, totaling $2.65 billion. However, imports in this category fell by 13%, a decline linked to a 24% drop in the re-export of cars from Georgia.

Petroleum products ranked second, with imports reaching $1.4 billion, up 44.5% year-on-year. Medicines ranked third at $527 million, marking a 3.6% increase.

Georgia also imported $427 million worth of crude oil, representing a nearly 37,000% year-on-year surge. The sharp increase is linked to the launch of operations at Georgia’s first full-scale oil refinery.
