Georgia received an income of USD 41 million 394 thousand from the gold (unprocessed, semi-processed, or gold products in the form of powder) exports in 5M24.
According to Geostat, the indicator increased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. Thus, the goods of this name took the tenth place in the ranking of the country's largest export items with a share of 1.8%.
Between January and May last year, the country sold gold worth 38 million 242 thousand USD. It should be noted that in recent years, gold exports have increased during 5 months, and the sale of locally produced goods determines the dynamics of exports growth.
In January-May 2024, gold was sold in three countries:
1. Switzerland - $37.4 million;
2. Turkey - $3.5 million;
3. United Arab Emirates - $459 thousand.
In the last five years, changes in the map of exporting countries affected Germany, which was in the list of exporting countries in 2019-2022.
