The Government of Georgia has extended TAV Airports’ management contract for Tbilisi International Airport by an additional five years, until the end of 2031. The announcement was made during the presentation of the airport’s expansion project, opened today by GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, will continue to operate Tbilisi International Airport until construction of the new international airport in Vaziani is completed.

According to Kobakhidze, the airport expansion will be backed by USD 150 million in new investment, which will significantly increase capacity and improve service quality.

“Under the renewed agreement, the Groupe ADP–owned TAV will manage the airport for an additional five years, until the end of 2031, and until the new Vaziani airport is completed. The USD 150 million investment will substantially increase airport capacity and significantly improve passenger service quality. This investment will support higher passenger flows, continuous service improvements, a safe and comfortable environment, efficient operations, and the introduction of a modern passenger experience in line with international standards. I would like to extend special thanks to our foreign partners , Groupe ADP and TAV, for their long-standing, productive cooperation in the development of Georgia’s airports,” Kobakhidze stated.

The expansion project is expected to address the sharp growth in passenger traffic recorded in recent years and prepare the airport to handle future demand until the new Vaziani airport becomes operational.
