Opening of the luxury city-type hotel “Grand Life WorldHotels Luxury” is planned in Batumi, in 2028.
On May 15, the Israeli-Georgian development company European Village, in cooperation with the world's largest hospitality company Aimbridge Hospitality, signed an agreement with Aimbridge in Batumi to enter into operational management of the new flagship hotel Grand Life WorldHotels Luxury.
The agreement signed in Batumi is a continuation of the agreement signed on 29 April, 2025 in Dubai between Best Western Hotels & Resorts and the development company European Village. According to the cooperation of the parties, the Grand Life WorldHotels Luxury hotel will officially become part of the WorldHotels Luxury segment, under the upscale structure of Best Western.
The development company European Village notes that this is an important event for the region, as Grand Life WorldHotels Luxury will be the first WorldHotels Luxury property in Eastern Europe and the ninth in worldwide. Globally, the brand’s portfolio operates a total of 8 hotels of this type.
The hotel project envisages construction of a 5-star luxury city hotel in the new center of Batumi, on the first line of the Black Sea coast. It consists of two blocks, which combine 86 apartments and 69 hotel rooms. Guests and apartment owners will have access to more than 100 facilities - restaurants, bars, SPA, fitness areas, conference rooms and closed parking.
"WorldHotels is about uniqueness and individuality. The concept of the new hotel in Batumi reflects our values: in line with the international luxury, the guest receives a real, authentic experience," - Wytze Van den Berg, Vice President of WorldHotels EMEA, said.
The development company notes that the luxury hotel market in Georgia is at the development stage. According to sector data, the supply of luxury branded hotels is still limited, despite the annually growing demand from international tourists. The company also notes that the only luxury city-type hotel to date is Paragraph Freedom Square Tbilisi, which has opened under Luxury Collection by Marriott International brand in 2023. European Village says that there are no similar projects on the Black Sea coast yet and that they will open the first such hotel themselves.
“The potential for the development of luxury hotels in Batumi is great and continues to grow. Today’s agreement is the result of our systematic work towards the formation of a new tourism ecosystem in Georgia,” notes Archil Partenadze, General Director of European Village, adding that American brands are actively entering the luxury hotel market in Georgia.
It is worth noting that Aimbridge Hospitality previously signed an agreement to manage the Wyndham Grand Gonio hotel, which will be an all-inclusive resort in the luxury complex format in the region. The developer of both projects is European Village, one of the major players in the real estate market.
Aimbridge Hospitality manages more than 1,500 hotels worldwide and has a 65-year history of experience in the upscale and luxury segments.
