Georgian hazelnut prices are expected to be lower than in 2025, although no sharp decline is anticipated, according to the Hazelnut Processors and Exporters Association. Executive Director Levan Kardava says the main reason is a strong harvest outlook in Turkey, which is a key driver of regional pricing.

Kardava noted that heavy rainfall over the past two months has led to the spread of fungal diseases such as mildew in orchards, particularly affecting small-scale farmers who lack sufficient resources for proper crop treatment. However, he does not expect significant damage to this year’s harvest volume.

He forecasts a higher harvest compared to 2025, with quality levels broadly similar to previous years. While production is expected to increase, prices are likely to remain stable or show a mild downward trend due to strong Turkish output.

Despite price expectations, hazelnut exports remain strong: in the first five months of the year, Georgia exported $68 million worth of hazelnuts, with the average export price around $10 per kilogram, about $3 higher than last year.
