To effectively implement the process of compulsory treatment for drug abusers, the first specialised medical unit dedicated to this purpose has been inaugurated at the Centre for Mental Health and Drug Abuse Prevention LLC.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new facility was inspected by Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Protection, alongside Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Butkhuzi.
“The new inpatient facility is designed to accommodate 22 patients. Plans are underway to expand the bed capacity gradually in the near future. The institution is staffed with highly qualified medical personnel. A multidisciplinary team, including addiction specialists, specialists from various medical fields, psychologists, and social workers, is involved in the treatment process. Care will be administered by modern clinical guidelines and international standards, fully tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient,” the Ministry of Health of Georgia announced.
