Hotel occupancy in Georgia has increased, but performance varies significantly by region, hotel concept and target audience, according to Keti Amirbari, Managing Partner of hospitality agency Amirbari. She noted that Tbilisi, Batumi and Kakheti each have different visitor profiles and spending patterns.

In Tbilisi, occupancy remains relatively stable throughout the year, supported by both leisure and business travelers. Batumi sees particularly high demand during the summer season, although performance differs between hotels depending on their concept and management.

Kakheti’s hotel market is driven largely by wine tourism and gastronomy. While overall demand has increased, Amirbari says some hotels have failed to reach their full potential. She also noted growing visitor numbers from Gulf countries and Israel, alongside continued growth from European markets.

Amirbari expects the sector to continue growing but says closer cooperation between the private and public sectors is needed. She believes joint initiatives and stronger engagement will be important for further developing Georgia’s hospitality industry.
