Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday said he had instructed the country’s Economy Ministry to draft a bill to ensure reduction in domestic prices on food and oil.
Earlier on February 6, the Prime Minister appealed to the oil importers and lower the prices to a reasonable level. As Irakli Gharibashvili pointed out, the profit from one liter of petrol cannot be 80-90 tetri, almost 1 GEL.
Has the price of fuel decreased in the country? - In order to get an answer to this question, BM.GE compared the current prices at various large gas stations during the last two weeks. According to the data of February 21, the cost of the most in-demand regular type of fuel at the branded petrol stations ranges from GEL 2.39 to GEL 2.70.
In the Wissol chain, almost all types of fuel decreased by 5-10 tetri on the last day - February 21. Ecosuper and Ecodiesel prices remained unchanged. The most - regular Euro type petrol became cheaper by 10 tetri, while the price of Eco Premium, Eco Diesel and Euro Diesel decreased by 5 tetri each. Before that, on February 14, the price of Euro regular in the Wissol chain decreased by 10 tetri, from GEL 2.69 to GEL 2.59, while Eco Premium, Eco Diesel, Euro Diesel and Diesel became cheaper by 5 tetri for this period.
In the case of Socar, the last price change was recorded on February 16. Specifically, Nano Premium decreased by 5 tetri, Nano Euro Regular by 10 Tetri, Nano Diesel by 5 tetri and Nano Euro Regular by 5 tetri. Before that, on February 8, the price of Nano Premium decreased by 7 tetri, and Nano Euroregular by 5 tetri.
The price of fuel at Gulf gas stations was reduced last on February 18: G-Force super and premium by 4 tetri, G-Force Euro regular and G-Force Euro diesel - by 10 tetri, and Euro diesel by 6 tetri.
