The Georgian government has issued decrees on the staff lists and salaries of the central offices of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, as well as Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
According to the decrees, 220 people are employed in the central office of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and 226 in the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
As for salaries, the monthly salary of the GD Minister of Economy Levan Davitashvili is 12,410 GEL as of January 1. The salary of his first deputy Nino Enukidze is set at 10,950 GEL, while the monthly salary of the remaining five deputies (Genadi Arveladze, Mariam Kvrivishvili, Guram Guramishvili, Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Irakli Nadareishvili) is 10,585 GEL as of January 1.
Similar amounts of official salaries are provided in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The monthly salary of Minister Davit Songulashvili will also be 12,410 GEL. His first deputy - Nino Tandilashvili - 10,950 GEL, and the remaining deputies - Solomon Pavliashvili, Apolon Kakabadze, Iuri Nozadze - 10,585 GEL.
The relevant decrees apply to labor relations arising from January 1, 2025.
The Parliament of Georgia adopted the draft law on increasing salaries for state and political officials on March 7, 2024 with 77 votes. According to the law, which entered into force on January 1, 2025, the corresponding coefficient of the salary granted to high-ranking officials was multiplied by the basic salary established in the civil service, and the salary was determined accordingly.
In accordance with the assigned coefficients, from January 1, 2025, the salary of the Prime Minister and President of Georgia is 14,600 GEL - and that of ministers, heads of governments of autonomous republics and chairmen of the Supreme Council is 12,410 GEL.
The increase in expenses is already provided in the draft budget for 2025.
