In August 2025, Georgia collected 1.7 billion GEL in taxes, according to operational data from the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance. In total, tax revenues for January-August reached 14.2 billion GEL, equivalent to 88% of the nine-month plan.

For comparison, tax collection in the same period of 2024 amounted to 13 billion GEL, marking an 8% increase in revenues this year. The August collection alone exceeded the previous year’s figure by 171 million GEL, or 10%.

Breakdown by Tax Type (August / January–August / % of 9-Month Plan)

  • Value-Added Tax (VAT): 674 million GEL / 5.15 billion GEL / 86%
  • Income Tax: 637 million GEL / 5 billion GEL / 90%
  • Profit Tax: 150 million GEL / 1.87 billion GEL / 79%

  • Import Tax: 11.6 million GEL / 95 million GEL / 84%
  • Other Taxes: 4 million GEL / 443 million GEL / 222%

Income tax compliance remains the strongest, with 90% of the nine-month plan already mobilized. However, profit tax lags behind, and the Ministry of Finance must collect 512 million GEL in September, more than three times the August figure, to meet the nine-month target. Similarly, 871 million GEL in VAT must be mobilized during September to fully achieve the nine-month VAT plan, which is 29% more than the August collection.

Overall, the government aims to collect 21.9 billion GEL in taxes in 2025. With 14.2 billion GEL collected in the first eight months, approximately 65% of the annual target has already been achieved.
