Imports from Georgia up by 20.7% in January-August 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year and stood at USD 6 072.7 million,- show the preliminary data from the Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In January-August 2021 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 67.8%. The top partners were Turkey (USD 1 075.4 million), Russia (USD 634.8 million) and China (USD 519.5 million).
The top import commodities in January-August 2021 were motor cars whose imports equaled USD 547.6 million (9.0% of the total imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils followed in the list with USD 492.1 million (8.1% of imports). The copper ores and concentrates were third in the top import commodity list with USD 445.9 million (7.3% of imports).
