Consulting company Modex has released the results of the analysis of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Armenia for 2023. According to the report, the net inflow of FDI to the country decreased by 2.3 times compared to the previous year, amounting to 443 million dollars.
A noticeable trend was the outflow of shareholder capital from Armenia, leading to a reduction in net financial obligations related to shareholder capital by 335 million dollars. This fact had a negative impact on reinvested capital, which decreased by over 200 million dollars.
However, it is worth noting that there is a significant increase in the volume of FDI in debt instruments. In 2023, such investments increased and amounted to over 300 million dollars, indicating a shift in the capital inflow structure to the country.
