The Ministry of Internal Affairs has released a statement regarding today’s planned rally, noting that any violations of the law will result in appropriate legal action by the police.

According to the Ministry, relevant police units have been mobilized across various locations in the capital.

“In order to ensure public safety and maintain order, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ relevant police units have been deployed throughout Tbilisi in connection with the rally planned for October 4, 2025.

We call on the organizers and participants of the demonstration to hold the gathering within the framework established by Georgian law, to comply with lawful police orders, and to avoid obstructing the performance of official duties.

Each instance of lawbreaking will be met with appropriate legal response by the police,” the statement reads.

Today, October 4, alongside the local self-government elections, a large-scale protest rally is planned in Tbilisi, while solidarity demonstrations are also scheduled in about 20 countries worldwide.
