Georgian Amelioration Ltd, under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture continues to prepare for the 2021 irrigation season.
In Gori Municipality, the rehabilitation of the irrigation system from the Nadarbazev Reservoir is underway in an active mode.
Within the framework of the project, it is planned to restore a total of 18 kilometers of water distribution canals, arrange reinforced concrete gutters and various hydraulic structures.
The implemented works will ensure stable irrigation of more than 1000 ha of agricultural land in the villages of Nadarbazevi, Shavshvebi, Khurvaleti, Nigoza and Zemo Rene.
The value of the project is 3 287 777 million GEL.
Works began in September last year. The project will be completed in the fall of this year.
Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia along with David Tsitlidze-General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” ltd and the First Deputy State Representative of Shida Kartli Simon Guledan got acquainted with the current situation on irrigation schemes and met with the local population.
