"It is now critically important to properly manage Covid and to spend every tetri on target. We will make sure to control this process," said Irakli Kovzanadze, Chairman of the Parliament's Budget and Finance Committee.
As Irakli Kovzanadze declares, according to the bill, the main part of the increase in the 2021 state budget allocations (1.1 GEL), about 600 million GEL is distributed on the health and social protection measures and management of COVID-19.
"The GDP growth rate increases to 7.7%, the deficit decreases from 7.6% to 6.9%. I hope that the real deficit will be significantly less. The government debt must be reduced to 54.6% or by 5.4%. Budget revenues, in total, increase by 1,175 million GEL, and payments by 1,114 million GEL, reaching almost 19.5 billion GEL, "- said Irakli Kovzanadze.
According to him, today's concluding session ended the committee discussions of the 2021 budget changes. The issue will be discussed at a special session tomorrow and will be voted on.
At the same time, the chairman of the committee once again appealed to his fellow citizens to take action, vaccinate and thus save their own lives and the economy of the country.
