On July 15, the joint Armenian-American exercises "Eagle Partner 2024" were officially opened at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. The opening ceremony was attended by Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien, and other officials.
The national anthems of Armenia and the USA, as well as the anthem of the "Eagle Partner" exercises, were played during the ceremony. Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and U.S. Ambassador Kristina Kvien delivered welcome speeches to the exercise participants.
Suren Papikyan stated: "I highly appreciate the work of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, the Kansas National Guard, which has been Armenia's partner for more than two decades, as well as the Peacekeeping Brigade of the Armenian Armed Forces and the representatives of the U.S. Embassy. This cooperation is aimed at enhancing the interaction of units participating in international peacekeeping missions."
The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial march. The joint "Eagle Partner 2024" exercises will be held from July 15 to 24, involving the peacekeeping brigade of the Armenian Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard. The goal of the exercises is to improve unit coordination, share best practices, and enhance the combat readiness of the Armenian unit.
