Kazakhstan is interested in Armenia joining the "Middle Corridor," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, during a briefing with his Armenian counterpart in Yerevan on March 18.

According to him, the project "Crossroads of Peace” proposed by the Armenian government is an additional opportunity for logistical and economic cooperation "between our countries".

'We aim to work with our partners to fully realize the potential of the 'middle corridor.' Considering Armenia's geographical advantage, the country is extremely important for Kazakhstan in intercontinental projects,' he noted.

In late October 2023, Armenia presented the "Crossroads of Peace” project, which essentially is the Armenian version of the project aimed at unlocking communications in the region after the 44-day war. It is one of the components of the process of establishing a lasting peace in the South Caucasus, and if implemented, it could change Armenia's status, helping it to emerge from isolation and become a logistical hub in the region.

BMG reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu announced plans to establish an Armenian-Kazakh Business Council as part of further development of trade and economic programs between the two countries.

According to him, Kazakhstan could increase its exports to Armenia to $350 million and actively support economic cooperation between the two countries.
