Kazakhstan will redirect 58,000 tons of oil from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline via Aktau port in December, the state-owned Kaztransoil announced.
The move follows a drone attack on CPC’s marine infrastructure near Novorossiysk on November 29, which has temporarily halted oil supplies pending repairs.
As a result, oil transport will increase by 58,000 tons to Aktau, 232,000 tons to the Atyrau-Samara route, and 72,000 tons to China compared to the original schedule.
Kaztransoil also plans to provide temporary storage for oil-producing companies until December 2025, with all shipments coordinated with international partners and freight forwarders.
