Revaz Sokhadze will succeed Irakli Karseladze as the Minister of Infrastructure, GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during a government briefing today.

“Irakli Karseladze has decided to resign from his public office and approached me with this request yesterday, which we discussed. First, I would like to express my gratitude to Irakli Karseladze, who has successfully led the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure for many years. Under his leadership, numerous important projects have been implemented in areas such as road construction, water supply, solid waste management, educational and sports infrastructure development, and municipal development. Once again, I would like to thank Mr Karseladze for his dedication and the many successful initiatives realised under his guidance.

I am pleased to introduce Mr. Revaz Sokhadze, who has been appointed as the new Minister of Infrastructure. Revaz Sokhadze is a valued member of our political team, having received his education at Tbilisi State University, where he studied both medicine and finance. Mr. Sokhadze has extensive experience in the private sector, holding senior managerial positions for several years. Since 2017, he has served as a member of the Tbilisi City Council, representing the Samgori district, and has been the Chairman of the Urban Development Commission. I wish Mr. Revaz Sokhadze great success in his new role as Minister of Infrastructure,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.

Karseladze has held the position of Minister of Infrastructure since February 2021.
