High economic growth and the ongoing trend of poverty reduction make it fully realistic for Georgia to eliminate poverty by 2030, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a briefing at the Government Administration.

He noted that since 2020, Georgia’s economy has grown significantly, increasing from GEL 50 billion to GEL 105 billion, and from $16 billion to $38 billion in dollar terms. He said maintaining a high pace of economic growth remains one of the government’s key priorities.

“As you know, since 2020 Georgia’s economy has grown from GEL 50 billion to GEL 105 billion, and from $16 billion to $38 billion in dollar terms,” Kobakhidze said.

He added that sustaining strong economic growth is essential for job creation, higher average wages, expanded social support, and further poverty reduction.
