Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze thanked Mamuka Mdinaradze for his contributions to the country and the ruling Georgian Dream party, saying everyone is capable of making mistakes.
Responding to a question about whether he takes full responsibility for Mdinaradze’s work, Kobakhidze said the former official had done many good things for the party and the country.
Asked about former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s allegation that he received a threatening letter from Mdinaradze in prison demanding a confession, Kobakhidze declined to comment, saying such matters fall under the exclusive authority of investigative bodies.
Mdinaradze announced his departure from politics and resignation from office on August 27. He previously headed Georgia’s State Security Service before leaving the post in April.
