Cargo processed at Georgia’s seaports and terminals reached 15.4 million tons in the first nine months of the year, up by 24%, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a government meeting.
He said Georgian Railways transported 11 million tons of cargo, an increase of 13%. The prime minister described the results across the transport and logistics sector as record figures.
Road transport accounted for 11.8 million tons, up by 3%, while cargo handled by international airports reached 33,600 tons, an annual increase of 30%.
Kobakhidze said the growth across all segments reflects changes implemented in the transport and logistics sector.
