GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the government is helping veterans start their own businesses through the “Enterprise Georgia” program. The head of government made the statement during an event dedicated to Veterans’ Day, emphasizing that supporting veterans and ensuring their social protection is one of the state’s top priorities.
“I extend my deep respect to our veterans and congratulate each of them on this special day. We honor the memory of our heroic fighters who sacrificed their lives for the independence and unity of our country. Recognizing veterans’ contributions, using their unique experience for national progress, and ensuring their social protection are essential priorities of our state policy,” said Kobakhidze.
According to Kobakhidze, the results of this policy are visible in concrete outcomes - this year, more than 5,500 veterans received state-funded medical treatment, and tuition fees were covered for up to 3,500 students who are children of veterans. “Through the ‘Enterprise Georgia’ program, we are helping veterans start their own businesses and create farmers’ associations. Our athletes also achieve international success on their behalf,” he added.
Kobakhidze thanked the State Service for Veterans’ Affairs and its head, Koba Kobaladze, for their efforts in implementing social, healthcare, cultural, and economic programs, as well as initiatives honoring fallen soldiers. He also acknowledged the role of the private sector, medical clinics, and charitable foundations that support veterans across the country, including those living near the occupation line, calling their assistance “invaluable.”
