GD Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with representatives of a US business mission organized by the Department of Commerce to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation opportunities. The meeting was held at a reception hosted by US Ambassador to Georgia, Alan Purcell, and attended by Georgian business and government representatives.
During the discussions, Kvrivishvili emphasized the importance of Georgia’s strategic partnership with the United States, noting the country’s interest in resetting relations and restoring strategic cooperation. She highlighted the role of government-backed infrastructure projects, including the East-West Highway, railway modernization, and port upgrades, in strengthening Georgia’s transit function and boosting its position in the Middle Corridor trade route.
“The implementation of these projects will help Georgia develop its logistics and transit potential, while contributing to the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor region,” Kvrivishvili stated.
The minister also stressed that meetings of this format facilitate closer ties between business communities and improve trade and economic relations between Georgia and the United States.
The US business mission, which also visited Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, focused on opportunities in trade, energy, infrastructure, and logistics in the region. The visit was organized in collaboration with the US Department of Commerce, the US-Georgia Business Council (AGBC), the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC), and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.
This engagement underscores Georgia’s commitment to deepening regional partnerships and creating a favorable environment for foreign investment.
