“During your current visit, we have planned a meeting with GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which is a very important step in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation,” Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during the opening of the 10th meeting of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Joint Governmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
Asadov also thanked the Georgian government for its active participation in COP29 and noted that Azerbaijan values Georgia’s contribution to the fight against global climate change.
“We had two meetings in Azerbaijan last year, in March and November during COP29. I’m grateful to see you both again and appreciate your active participation in COP29. We highly value Georgia’s contributions to the global fight against climate change. Today, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Joint Governmental Commission. I am confident that our deliberations, decisions, and agreements, as well as bilateral documents, will contribute to the further development of relations between our countries,” Asadov said.
Asadov also mentioned that during Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit, it is planned to visit the land plot allocated for the construction of the new Georgian embassy building.
“This land plot was allocated by the President of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision. It is located in the centre of Baku, one of the most beautiful areas in the city,” Asadov noted.
