In the first nine months of 2025, lemon imports to Georgia increased by nearly 24%, reaching 3,412 tons worth USD 2.5 million, according to official trade data. During the same period last year, the country imported 2,843 tons of lemons worth USD 2 million.

Turkey remains Georgia’s largest lemon supplier, accounting for 2,090 tons valued at USD 787,000. Other key import sources include South Africa (USD 767,000, 641 tons), the Netherlands (USD 747,000, 309 tons), Argentina (USD 125,000, 100 tons), and Iran (USD 72,000, 172 tons).

Overall, lemon imports rose by 23.8% in value and 20% in volume, reflecting both higher demand and possibly increased global prices. The diversified list of supplier countries also indicates Georgia’s growing dependence on multiple import markets for citrus products.
