As a result of our diligent work for two years, the level of unemployment and poverty has been reduced to a historic minimum and we have a positive trend in every direction. It was stated by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Executive Government Meeting today.
As the Head of the Government of Georgia noted, quite a high economic growth indicator will be proven in January according to the preliminary data.
“Recent data released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia evidence that the unemployment level has declined to a historic minimum. Unemployment indicator, as well as poverty level has dropped to a historic minimum. You have seen and heard the recent data, evidencing that trade volumes have risen in every direction. We have a positive trend and economic growth. We are expecting factual information for January and according to the preliminary data, which we have received from the Ministry of Finance of Georgia though will need to be confirmed by the affirming information from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, quite high economic growth will be proven in January. Overall, the trend seems to be giving all the grounds for optimism for having a high annual economic growth this year again. It should be our main task. It should be all about employment and more jobs. Also, let me tell you that the number of unemployed individuals has been reduced both among men and women, in urban and rural areas. Unemployment has been declining everywhere. It is a historic minimum. Both unemployment and poverty are at their lowest. It is a result of our work in the past two years” noted Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia.
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, protection of the best interests of people should be continued and the country should pursue interests that are only needed for our people and homeland. Had we taken other steps, no economic prosperity would have followed.
As the Prime Minister of Georgia noted, the world is challenged with a difficult situation, with no solution seen anywhere and no knowledge of when the war will end in Ukraine.
“Once again, I wish to tell our society and highlight how greatly important are the policies we pursue. Everything is related to the national security of our country. Had we taken other steps, no economic prosperity would have followed. I was visiting Munich, as you may well be aware. You have seen that situation is very difficult, with no solution seen anywhere and no knowledge of when the war will end in Ukraine. Overall, there is no sign of a solution from this calamity. So, we should continue protecting the national interests of our country and we need to pursue policies that are only needed for our people and country. This is my main message” concluded Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia.
