LPG Imports Increased By 77.3% In September

LPG

The situation in the liquefied gas market has stabilized. After the summer crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine War, LPG supply to Georgia was restored and imports of liquefied natural gas in Georgia increased by 77.3% in September. In the mentioned period, 97.6% of imports were made from the Russian Federation.

The head of the "Liquid Gas Association" relates such a radical increase in imports in September with the recovery of supply. According to Nika Khoperia, as of 9 months, the increase in imports is not so striking and it ranges within 5-10%.

"From September 20, the market began to stabilize, supply has been restored. Now imports are made intensively, therefore the price has also gone down and the cost of 1 liter is within the range of 1.20-1.25 tetri", Nika Khoperia said.

Today, the price of liquefied natural gas at gas stations in the capital varies between 1.20-1.35 tetri. Importers say that the crisis period has passed, therefore, depending on the seasonality among them, it is expected that the fuel prices for vehicles running on liquid gas will decrease further.
