Georgian wine companies can attract over 600,000 GEL for the marketing campaign except for CIS countries.
Ministry of Agriculture tries to diversify wine exports, which is basically concentrated in Russia and CIS countries. As of 2021, wine exports were up by 13% and amounted to 145 million USD (145 bottles), including 39.5 million bottles (60%) were exported to the Russian market.
70% of exports is concentrated in the CIS countries, including Russia.
TOP-5 non-CIS countries according to Georgian Wine Exports includes Ukraine (7.4 million Bottles in 8M 2021), Poland (3.6 million bottles in 8M2021), and China (3.4 million bottles in 8M2021).
According to the decree published in the Legislative Herald, winemakers will receive marketing funding in the following cases:
"Under the program, beneficiaries will be reimbursed for marketing expenses (except for Georgia and the CIS countries), if the following conditions are met:
A) If the beneficiary will export more wine (liters) in the current calendar year compared to the previous calendar year;
B) If the beneficiary will incur more marketing expenses during the current reporting period compared to the previous reporting period.
"The maximum amount of remuneration to be paid to each beneficiary during the calendar year is set at no more than 600,000 (six hundred thousand) GEL," the resolution reads.
