“Considering current events, I believe kindness is what strengthens us most, what is the main driving force behind every good deed,” the capital’s mayor stated at a Tbilisi municipal government meeting.

According to Kakha Kaladze, this year’s New Year slogan will be “A City Full of Kindness”.

“Along with New Year events, every year we have a New Year slogan which is primarily linked to the results achieved over the year, our successes and the spirit that motivates us towards our city. In recent years, we have had many successes and victories, but we have also had turning points which have found our society on different sides; we have lacked love for one another and for our homeland, mutual respect and acceptance of others’ positions; we stood on the brink of losing peace and starting a war; we achieved international success and, for the first time in our country’s history, thanks to our national football team, we declared loudly across Europe that we are Georgia,” stated Kakha Kaladze.

According to him, New Year slogans are primarily linked to the results achieved over the year, successes and the spirit that motivates society towards the city.

“Considering the processes unfolding in the world and in our country, I believe kindness is what strengthens us most, what is the main driving force behind every good deed. We need more kindness towards one another, towards our city, towards people in hardship, towards citizens with different political views; we must be able to build the future of our city and country with good intentions, not with hatred and malice; kindness must be the leading factor in raising our children, so that they can serve their homeland with dignity. This is precisely why this year’s New Year slogan will be ‘A City Full of Kindness’,” noted the Tbilisi mayor.

Furthermore, Kakha Kaladze wished the population kindness, spiritual peace and life in a free country for the coming year.

“Our New Year wish for everyone will be that more kindness, love and respect reign in our daily lives, because no one enjoys the environment and situation in which society finds itself today. The population is exhausted by tension, disrespect, insults and separation from one another. I recognise that we may hold differing views, including political ones, but all of this should be conducted with civility and should not cause divisions within society. I wish everyone kindness, spiritual peace, and a life in a strong, dignified, and free country. May kindness, love, and prosperity be with our families,” declared the capital’s mayor.
