Media representatives held a silent rally in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Representatives of various media outlets displayed photos of the deceased cameraman of TV Pirveli, Lekso Lashkarava, and called on the government to arrest the perpetrators of the July 5 violence.
As the participant of the rally, journalist Eka Mishveladze, said, today the media came to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but it will not end there and journalists will go wherever the government goes. Media representatives were met by law enforcers mobilized on the spot.
Reminder: On July 5, dozens of people beat up Miranda Baghaturia, a journalist of TV Pirveli, and cameraman Lekso Lashkarava near the office of "Shame Movement". Lashkarava was admitted to the hospital with eye and facial bone injuries but was discharged on July 10. Lekso Lashkarava was found dead on the morning of July 11 by his mother. Lekso Lashkarava was buried on July 13.
