In the first quarter of 2025, the total credit portfolio of the microfinance sector decreased by 191 million GEL, or 11%, and amounted to 1.55 billion GEL. This decrease is associated with the transformation of the microfinance organization "Crystal" and MBC into microbanks, due to which their financial indicators were excluded from the MFO sector.

As of the first quarter of 2025, the largest share of the MFO credit portfolio falls on pawn loans, which are mainly secured by gold and gold products. The total portfolio of these loans amounts to 1.17 billion GEL.

Consumer loans take second place with 240 million GEL, and loans issued to the trade sector with 75 million GEL are in third place.

The total number of loans issued by MFOs totals to 791 thousand, and the average loan amount is 1,964 GEL.
