The Georgian government is purchasing devices and software worth 6,796,092 GEL from Israel-based cybersecurity company Cellebrite, which enables reading information stored in mobile phones, computers, and other digital equipment. The relevant contract was signed with LLC "Communal Technology", which is the official representative of Cellebrite in Georgia. According to the company's website, Cellebrite systems are used to read data stored in Android, Apple, Microsoft, Linux, and other operating systems.
The purchase includes:
* Cellebrite Inseyets - 4 units of 3-year license (using existing 4 Premium adapters), which combines Cellebrite UFED Premium, Cellebrite UFED 4PC, Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Cloud and Cellebrite Commander systems - 4,413,820 GEL;
* Cellebrite Inseyets - 3-year license (using new Inseyest adapter), which combines Cellebrite UFED Premium, Cellebrite UFED 4PC, Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Cloud and Cellebrite Commander systems - 1,156,636 GEL;
* Cellebrite Digital Collector - 1 license (upgrade of existing), worth 69,000 GEL.
The devices are intended for the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Forensic-Criminalistic Department, which will allow the Computer and Digital Technology Expertise Laboratory to process investigative data more quickly and effectively.
According to the State Procurement Agency's archives, the state has been cooperating with Cellebrite for more than 10 years, with the largest purchase to date belonging to the Samkharauli Bureau of Expertise, worth 900 thousand GEL.
