Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili met with the delegation of the large financial institution, the Bank of America, which was held in Davos within the framework of the World Economic Forum. Revaz Javelidze, Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia, also attended the meeting.
Conversation focused on the economic trends in Georgia, challenges in the region, ways to overcome those challenges and newly emerged perspectives. Particular attention was paid to the current situation in the country's financial sector, significant progress achieved and opportunities created during the recent years. It was noted that the country has a developed, profitable and highly liquid banking sector, at the same time, it is carrying out structural reforms in the development of the capital market, establishing Georgia as a financial hub and many other directions, which also create additional potential and benefits for the further development and diversification of the sector.
Vice Prime Minister invited delegation of the Bank of America to Georgia for a working visit, to study trends and opportunities in the country, as well as hold meetings with the representatives of local public and private agencies.
