Georgian First Vice Speaker and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, met UAE Trade Minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazroue within the framework of his visit to Dubai.
The meeting addressed the intensification of trade-economic relations. Levan Davitashvili said that trade turnover based on last year’s data between Georgia and the UAE increased by 38%, and the number of visitors went up by 18.9%.
Davitashvili hailed the economic partnership agreement, signed in October 2023, to come into force in 2024. The Minister stressed that the Georgian government takes active steps to deepen cooperation with the UAE in the energy sphere and attract additional investments.
He focused on the solar electric power plant project, which the UAE’s Masdar state company will construct in the Gardabani municipality. The project aims to reduce import dependency and contribute to the diversification of energy resources.
