Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan presented data on orders from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia to Armenian defense industry enterprises at a press conference on April 15.
As he noted, 25 Armenian defense industry enterprises have received three-year contracts from the Ministry of Defense worth 122 billion drams (approximately $313 million).
“The ministry operates a military-industrial committee overseeing the work of enterprises and working on improving cooperation between the ministry and defense industry enterprises,” said Hayrapetyan.
The minister also reported on the conduct of internal tests of several types of weapons and control systems, which will soon be introduced into the Armed Forces of Armenia.
He noted that during meetings with representatives of all companies involved in the defense industry, all problematic issues were identified, and it is expected that many of them will be successfully resolved.
In total, as the minister stated, 46 contracts have been signed. "It is expected that by the end of the year, orders will be received by another 4 companies, and the total amount of orders will reach 191 billion drams (approximately $490 million)," he said.
