In 2Q2022 the monthly average number of Georgian resident visitors aged 15 years or more equaled to 1.1 thousand, whose monthly an average number of visits on the territory of Georgia corresponded to 1.3 million units, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
As of the document, the monthly average number of visitors has decreased by 8% in comparison to the corresponding data for 2Q of the previous year.
In 2Q2022, the monthly average number of tourist visits of Georgian residents amounted to 714.2 thousand, which is 6.1% lower than the indicator of relevant period of the previous year.
In 2Q2022, 36.3% of the visitors belonged to the age group of 31-50 years. Herewith, women accounted for 56.9% of the total number of visitors.
According to the survey results, 36.3% of visitors are the residents of Tbilisi, 14.6% - Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, 11.3% - Kvemo Kartli region, while the rest of the regions are represented by the lower share in the structure.
In 2Q2022, the main purpose of majority visits (50%) was visiting friends/relatives.
In the reporting period majority of the visits comes on Tbilisi (average 296.6 thousand visits per month) and Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region (241.4 thousand visits per month).
In 2Q2022, the monthly average expenditure during the visits equaled to GEL 208.7 million. This indicator is 2.6% higher than the indicator of the relevant period of the previous year. As for the average expenditure per visit it has been increased by 13.3% and equaled to GEL 162.9.

• Accommodation - GEL 4.5 million, average cost per visit - GEL 3.5;
• Holiday, leisure, recreation, cultural and sporting activities - GEL 2 million, average cost per visit - GEL 1.5;
• Other expenses -GEL 37.5 million, average expenses per visit - GEL 29.3.
