Georgia’s asparagus imports slightly decreased in the first quarter of 2026, totaling $21,000 worth of product (1,900 kg), down from $24,000 and 2,000 kg in the same period last year. This reflects a modest decline of 12.5% in value and 5% in volume, according to Geostat data.
The Netherlands remains the dominant supplier, accounting for nearly all imports - about $20,000 worth of 1,800 kg of asparagus.
A small additional volume of 100 kg worth $1,000 was imported from Israel.
On the export side, Georgia’s asparagus trade remains limited and is largely based on re-exports. In Q1 2026, exports amounted to 500 kg worth $6.5 thousand, slightly lower than last year’s 600 kg valued at $7,000, indicating a decline of 14.2% in value and 16.6% in volume.
All Georgian asparagus exports during the period were directed exclusively to Armenia, highlighting the narrow structure of the country’s export market for this product.
