Company MagtiCom releases another statement regarding the activities of the Communications Commission. The company explains that the Communications Commission is misinterpreting EU Regulation for Virtual Zone Entities, which is totally harmful to the mobile communications sector.
“The Communications Commission incorrectly explains the EU regulation practice towards mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and deliberately tries to mislead the public.
The Communications Commission made a hasty and ill-advised decision (G-20-9 / 156, December 31, 2019) on the mandatory admission of the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). The Commission did not conduct the necessary research required by the law.
The Communications Commission ignores the cyber security risks and consequences recognized by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).
Although MagtiCom repeatedly warned the Communications Commission about the risks and these risks were confirmed by the six best international auditing companies of the world based on proper research / analysis / conclusion. The Commission rejected them unreasonably. Against the background of these facts and studies, it is natural to ask why the Communications Commission needs to implement such a harmful decision, especially at a time when the situation around the world and in Georgia is completely uncertain, both in terms of the pandemic, as well as the devaluation of the national currency. At the same time, the average monthly income from each mobile subscriber in Georgia is 8.6 GEL! Which is one of the lowest in Europe, and the quality of mobile network in Georgia is one of the best in the world. At the same time, two out of three mobile operators are at a net loss”, - the statement reads.
