It would be an ideal gift for a sanctioned and geopolitically defeated Russia if Georgia does not get a candidate status, - Sandro Chumburidze, General Secretary of EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) told BMGTV.
According to him, Georgia cannot remain without a candidate status.
"They don't give a candidate status to the government, they give status to the country, and the people who decided to take the European path 31 years ago. How much we have endured since then... We want status, even with recommendations. It would be an ideal gift for a sanctioned and geopolitically defeated Russia if we do not get the status and remain a country that will become a country of great influence on the part of Russia. Therefore, it is a categorical request to the Europeans that we want the status", said Sandro Chumburidze.
According to him, granting of candidate status to Georgia means sustainable development of the country.
