In 1Q023 the number of Georgian resident travelers’ trips abroad equaled 585.8 thousand, which is 2.2 times higher compared to the data from the same period of the previous year. Most of the trips, 46.3 percent, were made by travelers of 31-50 age group, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
As of the document, the number of outbound visits by Georgian visitors from above-mentioned number made up 448.4 thousand, which is 2.1 times higher compared to the data from the same period of 2022.
Outbound visitors have made 255.4 thousand tourist-type visits, which is 76.9% higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year.
The majority of outbound visits, 49.1%, were made by the visitors of age group of 31-50 years. The number of visits made by women equaled to 45.4% of the total number of visits.
In 1Q2023 the purpose of the majority of outbound visits (38.1%) was shopping.
The expenditures during the visits made in 1Q2023 equaled to GEL 372.5 million, which was 30.7%higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. Average expenditure on the visit decreased by 37% compared to 1Q2022 and amounted to GEL 830.8.
